Get Chickens this Spring, it's not too late

In my experience chickens are the easiest and most productive animal you can raise on a farm. Of course I like eggs, so I may be biased. Chickens are relatively easy to build a home for and to fence in. Or if you are lucky and have few predators (raccoons, coyotes, eagles, dogs) you can let them free range, although they will still need a safe draft free nesting-sleeping area.

Bayview Farm and Garden (Langley, WA) still has deliveries of baby chicks coming in April and May. It's not too late to raise your own chickens for meat or eggs (or both) this spring. For every $25 you spend at Bayview Farm and Garden, they will give you 5 chicks, and up to 15, or $75 worth of purchasing. Check by the store to put in your order or to learn more about what breeds you can get through their "Chick Days Sale".
