Stella Vita is 1 year old today! Happy Birthday Baby!

Stella turned 1 year old today at 3:06 AM and I am posting some pictures of her birth to commemorate the day. My pregnancy and Stella's birth were relatively easy and I never needed to nap during the day after she was born as she slept so well the whole first year. The only time we had a restless night was one night when she was teething. Wow, that's pretty amazing, as I remember being really tired when my first daughter Marina was a newborn.

The day before Stella was born, Candice and Luc pictured next to the water birthing tub where Stella was later born.

Enjoying the warmth of the water during contractions. Also I decorated the room with candles and dimmed the lights, hence the absence of a lot of non-blurry pics!

Right after the birth, Candice holding Stella

This is how peaceful a newborn looks just out of the womb, in a peaceful environment with lots of love. Stella is so new that her skin color is still very gray.

The placenta, a very cool sight! This is what nourished baby in the uterus for 40 weeks!

Big sis Marina was interested from the start in holding, singing, and touching her new baby sister. Here Marina holds Stella and lovingly places her hand on her chest.

This is the pic that we used to announce Stella's birth in the newspaper (above)

Luc, marina and Stella sleeping together. I was a little surprised to wake up to Marina snuggled up against Stella, as we had a pillow to separate the two of them. It made a pretty picture though.
